We call our students Triunfadores because we prepare the students we serve to be triumphant in the academic endeavors they set out to achieve. The Triunfadores College Prep Program (CPP) strives to support Alachua students in school and through their journey to attend college. They are matched with an education-trained volunteer that will tutor, mentor, and provide guidance. The program has two tracks, each catered to students of different ages and their needs.
Track One is intended for students grades K-7 where support is offered through:
Academic tutoring of school subjects.
Standardized testing practice (FSA Prep).
Tutoring with an emphasis on language arts, writing, and mathematics.
Track Two is intended for students grades 8-12 where support is offered through:
Academic tutoring of school subjects.
Standardized testing practice (FSA).
AP Testing and midterm/final exam tutoring.
Tutoring on college entrance exams (SAT & ACT).
Mentoring on class choice, career path exploration, and college research.
Mentoring through the college application process.
Development of professional skills (resume-building, interview prep, cover letters, etc.).
Distribution of resources (scholarship information, templates, etc.).
Opportunities to fulfill volunteer hours for the Bright Futures Scholarship.
