MISSION Our mission is to work to eliminate barriers to education and provide a foundation for quality of life improvements for vulnerable children at home and in Latin America.
We do this by providing:
Academic support and mentoring support through workshops, tutoring services and college prep for all children through grades K-12.
Monthly Health Clinics and Health Fairs that aim to mitigate health-related needs of vulnerable children and their families.
Funding scholarships for college students in Colombia and guiding them with implementation of a service project in their community.
OUR WORK
Through the IAMCBOB Scholarship program, CBOB provides college funding for selected scholars in Colombia while guiding scholars to establish local community service programs. Through the Children Within Our Borders, our local branch of CBOB - CWOB provides comprehensive tutoring and mentorship for at-risk K-12 students living in Alachua county through our Triunfadores College Prep Program along with hosting monthly health clinic and periodic health fairs organized by our Health Initiative team to provide access to basic health services. Through the Bound for Peace service program, CBOB organizes week long service trips and virtual service trips to Colombia where motivated university level students and professionals in the US design and implement educational workshops for young students. The heart of CBOB is our Volunteer Internship Program (VIP) where university level students are empowered to take ownership of respective programs and responsibilities within the organization, gaining valuable leadership experience and often leveraging the CBOB platform to expand our reach and launch new programs.
VISION
Every child, regardless of their socioeconomic status, race, gender, or sexual orientation deserves a proper education and access to health care. Our vision is to ensure every child is healthy to pursue a bright future, one that breaks boundaries and goes beyond borders.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION At Children Beyond Our Borders, Inc. we are committed to celebrating diversity of every kind, in the children we serve and the people within our ranks who serve them. Every child, student, intern and member – whatever their race, gender, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religious or political beliefs, ethnicity, physical and mental ability, nationality, spirituality, cultural identity or military status – has the right to inclusion, belonging and respect. We aim to create an environment in which all members of the CBOB community feel empowered to be their true authentic selves.
