When you meet with your mentee, have a conversation about what they will be doing this summer. Along with college prep, there are a variety of opportunities your mentee can engage in to have an enriching and resume-boosting summer, such as participating in a competitive program or local internship, taking on a summer job, or volunteering. Discuss these opportunities with your mentee to figure out what they might be interested in and/or what might be the most rewarding opportunities for them, and encourage your mentee to look through some of these opportunities on their own time as well.
