The Ultimate CBOB Bridal Shower

    At the heart of our organization is our Executive Director, Andrea Ortega, but her connection with Children Beyond Our Borders (CBOB) runs way deeper than just a career. As a member of CBOB since August 2009 she has seen this organization grow before her eyes, while she has evolved with it. Now, Andrea is making CBOB a part of her future in an entirely different sense. 
       Four years ago Andrea was visiting the University of Central Florida on a mission to spread the word about CBOB’s Bound for Peace service trips.

         On this mission, she not only recruited amazing volunteers but she also found love. David was a Senior studying there at the time. “We met and have never stopped talking since,” Andrea said of her first encounter with David.  Fast forward to October 3rd, 2015 - the night of our second annual “Passport to Peace” Gala. As the CBOB family watched, David proposed to Andrea in front of all those she holds close to her heart (see photo above).

          Now Andrea has decided to incorporate the CBOB family into her bridal shower! She is going back to where she fell in love with CBOB, Hogar Maria Isabel in Colombia, to celebrate her wedding with the girls we serve there who continue to be our inspiration and what drives our organization. The festivities will include an elegant tea party with Andrea, her bridesmaids, and close friends. They will be playing bridal shower games and will be doing empowering activities all while playing dress up.

          Our organization, and this bridal shower, would not be successful without the help of our amazing supporters. Any donations would make a huge difference in the success of this event. If you are unable to donate money, please consider donating gently used dresses, shoes, hair accessories, or any other things that may be useful for their activities. Andrea is asking for donations by July 25th so she can purchase decorations, catering, and goody bags for the girls.

      Since CBOB has shaped Andrea, brought her and David together, and has become such an integral part of their lives, Andrea could think of no better way to celebrate her marriage than with the 60 girls we serve at Hogar Maria Isabel.
