Diana and Brendan's Love Story

Diana is originally from Medellin, Colombia but her family migrated to the US when she was very young. Since then, she has benefited greatly from the educational opportunities in this country, which ultimately led her to medical school at Columbia University in New York in 2007. That is where she met her fiancee Brendan Williams. After graduation from medical school, they moved to Gainesville, Florida to complete their medical training in their respective fields (Brendan in Orthopedic surgery and Diana in Pediatrics). Shortly after moving to Gainesville, which is Diana's home town, Brendan proposed and they are planning to get married at their parents' home in Gainesville. Diana and Brendan have long shared a passion for empowering children through initiatives that improve their education and health, at times working side by side with disadvantaged youth in the States and abroad. However, Diana loves her country and wants nothing more than to contribute to Colombia's future. That is why she chose Children Beyond Our Borders, Inc (CBOB). Diana believes in the mission of CBOB and wants to share it on this special day with all her guests.

A WORD FROM CBOB

CBOB will want to focus on students that are pursuing a Medical Degree so that both Diana and Brendan can become mentors to the chosen scholar. We believe funds, although helpful, don't compare to the ability to have someone to lean on.  We believe  that the best journey is when you get to the finish line together as an organization, mentor and sponsor. It is our goal to make sure they graduate and it means a lot to CBOB that the IAMCBOB Sponsors are a part of the journey from beginning to end. We are extremely excited for this wonderful gift Diana and Brendan have decided to give.
