Nuevos Horizontes

Nuevos Horizontes is CBOB's educational and mentoring program. We want to awaken the potential of displaced youth by paying attention to their unique needs and interests. With this we will be able to connect participant expectations and program objectives. The program is the first of its kind that offers a system that stimulates self-esteem, interest, curiosity and innovation in vulnerable internally displaced adolescents in Colombia.

Crossing Borders

Cross Borders with us and Make a difference

We have trained over 150 undergraduate and post-graduate student volunteers and sent them on 10 service trips to provide educational workshops and infrastructure support as well as create meaningful relationships with the children and youth in these vulnerable communities. The workshops provided focus on skill development through education, civic engagement and opportunity. Past workshops have touched on conflict resolution, freedom from poverty and fear, self esteem development, team work, entrepreneurship, and the importance of education. We also offer one-on-one reading and tutoring. We have also improved the children’s living environment as well by providing a computer lab, playgrounds, a toy library, beds and bedding material, and restoring classrooms.
